Hi! Im veterinarian and Purina Cat Chow Mentor Doctor Karen Sueda. Your kittens first year is critical to a lifetime of good health and well-being. During that time, shell grow from infancy through young adulthood. Imagine a human baby growing into a teenager in just one year! Your kitten needs to have the best possible nutrition to build strong bones, good muscles, a well-developed nervous system, and vitality that will set her up for a lifetime of good health. Kittens, like babies, need their own special food. Her incredible growth and energy needs require a food which will give her extra nutrition and calories. Its also important to realize that kittens tend to be nibblers they prefer a number of small meals throughout the day. So a food specially formulated for her needs, like Purina Kitten Chow that will stay fresh and flavorful in her bowl, is a great choice. Your kitten should be fed three times a day until she is six months old. At about six months, she will resemble an adult cat in size. But dont be misled, she wont be fully grown until about 1 year of age. At this point, she only needs to be fed twice a day. You can check your kittens food bag for specific feeding instructions or log on to KittenChow.com for more detailed information. One last note about feeding and nutrition: always provide your kitten with fresh, clean water. If you have specific questions or concerns about your kittens diet, ask your veterinarian. Thanks for watching! And remember that giving your kitten lots of love and affection will help build the foundation for your happy, healthy life together.
